Waypoint Adventure trip leaders specialize in leading accessible adventure-education programs for youth and adults of all abilities. Our small group hikes are the perfect way to try an activity for the first time, get to meet new people, or just get out into nature and experience the serenity of the trail, river, or lake with our community. Participants benefit from our selection of adaptive equipment, receive instruction to meet any learning style, and be encouraged to reach your individual goals. Volunteers are asked to help us create community and make people feel welcome, help push off road wheelchairs for short periods of time if necessary, and help with group management.

Bathroom: There is a flush bathroom in the Visitor's Center

What To Pack:

• Small back pack or bag to carry your things
• Appropriate clothing for the weather
  
• Sunglasses (if needed)
• Sunscreen
• Snacks/ lunch
• Water bottle
• Lace-up sneakers or hiking boots

What to Expect:

• 10:00 Arrive and meet staff
• 10:10-10:45 set up any gear that is needed, prep group space, review any special adaptive systems
• 10:45: go over participants
• 11:00: individuals arrive
• 11:10: start opening circle, goal, and/or games
• 11:30: start hiking
• 1:00: Lunch / snack on trail
• 2:00: group departs
• 2:00: clean up site and debrief program
• 2:30 volunteers depart
