04.10.25 Outdoor Rock Climbing 9:00-2:00

If you have not registered in Jumbula before, please first create an account using our Volunteer Sign Ups 2025 page and then register for this program.

*This is an outside climbing program and knowledge of how to belay is required

Location: Stage Fort Park 24 Hough Ave, Gloucester, MA 01930 

Before coming out: The path to the wall is on dirt paths and grass, may be uneven and there could be rocks and roots present.

Parking/Route to the wall: There is a large parking area across the road from the rock wall.  Do not park at the visitor center that is short term parking only.

Bathrooms: The restrooms may not be open.  Availability of a porta poty is not guaranteed.

What to bring:

• Small back pack or bag to carry your things
• Climbing gear including helmet (if you have your own; we will provide you with gear otherwise)
• Lunch
• Snacks
• Sun protection
• Water bottle

Schedule:

• 9:00am: Volunteers arrive and get acquainted
• 9:15am: Learn about the participants and the days lesson plan
• 9:45am: Prep the space
• 10:00am: Students arrive and program starts
• 10:30/10:45 participants get all geared up and start to climb
• 12:30-1pm: Lunch and reset for afternoon sessions
• 12:00: break for lunch
• 12:30: wrap up and group departs
• 1:00- 2:00: Cleanup and debrief
• 2:00pm: Staff and volunteers leave
