Description

If you have not registered in Jumbula before, please first create an account using our  Volunteer Sign Ups 2025 page and then register for this program.

Join us for Winter Adventures at Weston. Weston Ski Track is a cross-country ski/snowshoe center in Weston, that makes fresh snow on-site. If you can only attend for part of the program day, please let us know after signing up. We also strongly encourage you to attend our volunteer training on 1/5/25 or 1/8/25 at the Weston Ski Track!

Parking: Volunteers should park in the main lot (there will likely be open spaces). If the parking lot is full, volunteers should take a left out of the parking lot on Concord St. and turn into any of the side streets to street park (it's a 5-10 min walk). For volunteers who need accessible parking, see the image attached. If the lot is full, you can park in the golf cart lane marked in the image. If you need accessible parking, you can park along the road heading up to the building on the right, or in any of the 4 marked accessible spots behind the building.

 

Bathrooms: There are indoor accessible bathrooms. There is also an indoor space to warm up and buy snacks/refreshments.

Meeting Location: Please meet us outside near the big green tent behind the building. Look for green Waypoint signs to direct you to our meeting spot. Please arrive with enough time to park, get dressed, and use the bathroom prior to the start of your lesson.

What To Bring: 

  • Warm Layers (thick socks, warm pants and/or snow pants, and warm coat)
  • Warm Boots
  • Gloves
  • Winter Hat
  • Water
  • Snack and/or Lunch
  • Personal Ski Equipment (if you have your own; we will provide otherwise)

Volunteer Roles/Responsibilities: 

  • Set up and put away equipment 
  • Assist participants into equipment
  • Walk, ski, or snowshoe, and push kick-sled/sit-skis with participants
  • Play snow games and have fun!
  • Organize base camp

  • Do you need to know to cross-country ski to volunteer?
    • No! we need volunteers to push kick-sleds/sit-skis, to snowshoe and play snow games.
  • How can I learn to ski? 
    • Attend a training! You can also take time to ski before and/or after programs to develop your skills.
