Mount Wachusett Summit Ride

A Waypoint Adventure Cycling Friendraiser

Date: October 19, 2025

Start/End Location: Mount Wachusett Ski Area, Westminster, MA.

About: We're coming together to conquer the summit of Mount Wachusett, the highest peak in Central Massachusetts. This ride will challenge us with rewarding climbs and spectacular fall foliage views while we test our pedaling muscles!

This ride was inspired by our team's desire to explore the premier cycling terrain right in our backyard and showcase the incredible autumn colors that make October riding in Massachusetts truly special.

What to Expect

  • Route: We'll be tackling a summit ride featuring sustained climbing to the peak of Mount Wachusett at 2,006 feet elevation. Expect some challenging grades, road and gravel sections, and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside draped in peak fall colors.

  • Link to Route on Ride with GPS: Wachusett Summit Route Map

  • Start/End Base: Mount Wachusett Ski Area—our headquarters for the day with parking and restrooms.

  • Post-Ride: Towards the end of the ride, we are stopping at the Mountainside Cafe to rest, refuel and regroup.

Additional Details

  • Gear: Bring your own bike and helmet. This ride includes mixed terrain and steep grades—road or gravel bikes with appropriate gearing recommended for the climbs.  (Waypoint can provide adaptive bikes and or a helmet upon request, please email Harrison Shulman at [email protected] for any equipment requests)
  • Food: Pack your own ride snacks and hydration. Extra water recommended for the sustained climbing efforts. We are planning on stopping at the Mountainside Cafe for lunch, coffee or pastries at the tail end of the ride.
  • Support: This is an independent ride. Riders must be capable of and plan on providing their own support if needed. Waypoint will provide support staff riders to any adaptive cyclist who requests it.
