Description

Join us for a fun-filled day of service and connection with our LIT community at Jackson Farm!

Jackson Farm is operated by the Cooperative for Human Services (CHS), a non-profit organization that provides day and residential support services to people with disabilities in Massachusetts. The farm has goats, chickens, guinea pigs, and a Vietnamese pot-bellied pig! They also grow fresh foods and vegetables that are provided to sustain the individuals and residences supported by CHS.

When: Saturday, April 27th from 10AM-1PM (Rain date: Sunday, April 28th)

Where: Jackson Farm (15 Haverhill St, North Reading MA 01864)

Who: LIT Alumni, Captains, and friends, as well as some CHS community members who would love to hear more about your experience and leadership with Waypoint Adventure.

Waypoint staff: Carly (857) 302-2659 and Jillian

What:

We'll start with a farm tour to learn about the animals and agriculture at the farm.

Then, you'll get a chance to practice your leadership skills by working together to complete some service projects around the farm. Projects might include prepping garden beds, planting seeds, mulching, painting, watering plants, or identifying and removing invasive plant species in the woods.

After that, we'll gather for lunch together and maybe even get to enjoy some farm fresh produce! Bring your own lunch, and Waypoint will provide drinks, snacks, and sides.

We can't wait to see you all and connect as a community while supporting our awesome friends at Jackson Farm!

Note: The farm is not entirely accessible to standard wheelchairs. Waypoint will bring a couple of our off-road mobility devices if needed.

There are no toilets available, but there will be an accessible porta-potty on site.
